If you’ve been suffering from back pain over the past few months, then it’s obvious that your life is affected. Back pain can affect your daily life. It can make a comfortable day at work or at home difficult and often downright painful.
If you have been in an accident, it may seem as though the pain goes away after the accident or injury, the fact of the matter is that it doesn’t. In fact, sometimes the pain never goes away, even if the accident is healed.
Most doctors don’t think it’s a good idea to prescribe pain medication to someone with a chronic back pain problem. I have a tendency to agree with them because pain medication has shown to cause more harm than good.
The problem with pain medications is that they merely numb the pain temporarily. You only get temporary relief and usually you only treat the symptoms, not the cause.
By treating with pain medication, you are actually denying the real cause of the pain and only addressing the symptoms. This creates a domino effect that is hard to fix, especially when it comes to back pain.
The most common form of medication prescribed for people with back pain is an anti-inflammatory medication. These can help in dealing with the inflammation, but in doing so, they also rob the body of its natural ability to heal itself.
So if the back pain only gets better by taking anti-inflammatory medication, what is the problem? The answer is obvious, the pain will go away but your body will just keep on building up the damage.
When a person suffers a severe injury like an accident, a fall, or some other form of extreme damage, it doesn’t take long for that person to realize that the physical damage they’ve done will keep them from functioning properly. They are going to have to work hard to correct the damage and will also have to work harder to recover.
It is with this in mind that the body’s ability to heal itself becomes a problem. The body is designed to be able to repair any injuries it takes, so why does that not happen in case of severe injury?
The damage to the back isn’t just the fact that it’s damaged, it’s the fact that it is damaged badly. This is where the majority of the back pain problems are.
The body has a natural ability to heal itself, but when there is too much damage to the spine, the muscle tissue, and the ligaments in the lower back, it is more difficult to heal. That is why the pain keeps coming back, because the healing process was never completed and now the back is overstretched and damaged beyond repair.
